Bark in the Park 2009 - Be a Party Animal!Press your pup's favorite party dress - it's Bark in the Park time and time to celebrate FVHA's 80th birthday!Bark in the Park is FVHA’s largest annual fundraiser. The June 6 event features a 1- or 2-mile pledge walk at the beautiful Thrivent Financial Grounds. (Walkers with and without pets are most welcome!) Event and Registration Details
Bark in the Park will be held Saturday, June 6, at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, 4321 N. Ballard Road, Appleton, Wisconsin. Our day’s schedule is:- Registration and Fun - 8:30-9:30 a.m.
- Pet Parade - 9:45 a.m.
- Opening Rally - 10:15 a.m.
- Walk - 10:30 a.m.
- Lunch - 11:00 a.m.
- Awards – 11:30 a.m.
Registration is $25 per adult in advance, $30 the day of. Registration includes your Bark in the Park birthday party t-shirt! Children under 13 are free with a registered parent or adult relative. Registration fees and pledges will be collected online (see online fundraising), during our pre-registration days, or the day of the event. Registration is separate, and in addition, to pledge monies raised. In addition to your t-shirt, registration includes:
- Mills Fleet Farm goodie bag
- Two Paws Up gour-mutt dog treat
- Games and amusements
- Lunch prepared by celebrity grillers, Mad Dog and Merrill!
Online Fundraising
Bark in the Park’s online fundraising pages make raising your Bark in the Park pledges faster, easier and more painless than ever. If you can turn on a computer, you can create your own fundraising page to email to your friends, family and co-workers. With a few clicks, you’ll raise more money than you ever did knocking on doors. Go to www.firstgiving.com/foxvalleyhumane to get started. If you are one of our top three fundraisers, you’ll win a tote bag full of pet and human goodies.Walk Teams
Gather your family, friends or co-workers and form a team of five or more adult walkers. Teams that pre-register 3 weeks in advance (by May 15) will receive commemorative buttons and personalized doggy bandanas for all their canine members. Register your team online and create online fundraising pages at www.firstgiving.com/foxvalleyhumane. Also be sure to download your team registration form, and print plenty of pledge sheets for your members.Have an employer who is enthused about your walk efforts? Ask them to be a Team Match Sponsor! Team Match Sponsors pledge to match the money raised by your team up to a maximum dollar amount they set. Download a Team Match Sponsorship form (PDF) and ask your employer to sponsor you!
Pre-Registration Days
Don't feel like waiting in line on June 6? Stop by FVHA on Tuesday, June 2, or Thursday, June 4, for pre-registration. Drop off all your pledges and pick up your t-shirt and other goodies.Pet Parade

Games and Amusements
Swing over to the Games and Amusements and have some fun with these activities:- Agility and Flyball Demo - Watch some sprightly canines show off their agility and flyball chops. Can your dog compete? Give it a try! Agility and flyball demo courtesy of Clever K-9s.
- Balloon Raffle - Buy a balloon for $5, pop it, and reveal a prize worth at least $5! Prizes include restaurant gift certificates, pet store gift certificates, gourmet dog treats and much, much more. You literally can’t lose!
- Bobbing for Tennis Balls - A doggie classic. Canines pick tennis balls from our pools in search of the ones marked for special prizes!
- 50/50 Raffle - Old-fashioned, imminently spendable CASH. The more tickets bought, the higher the prize.

Remember your party day with a fantastic souvenir photo! Debbie Daanen Photography will be shooting photos and your sitting fee goes directly to FVHA!
