Ranger

Gender:  Male
Breed: Yellow Lab
Age: 7 years
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? In the last year and a half we bought a house and had a baby and currently have another baby on the way. Unfortunately he did not adjust well and has become aggressive with our daughter. He is not patient with her while we teach her how to treat an animal. Before this he was used to being the baby and got all the attention.

Is your pet spayed or neutered? Yes.

What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does your pet have? Older children (5+) are ok but he is not patient with young children who do not know yet how to treat an animal. He is not friendly with other dogs.

Does your pet live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: No and does not do well with other dogs. Has never had interaction with cats so not sure how he would do.

Does your pet live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes, 14 months but does not do well.

Tell us about your pet’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Ranger loves walks and sun bathing in the grass. Or come winter, he loves rolling around in the snow and digging his head in snow banks. Although he loves his walks, as he’s getting older he doesn’t require as long a walk as he used to. He’s satisfied with 20 minutes if that’s all the time you have. He knows his basics tricks (sit, stay, shake). He’s very good about walking on the side of the road and will stop when you tell him to “hang on.” Ranger has become terrified of fireworks and thunderstorms. This has also lead him to be afraid of airplanes. He finds a place to hide and shakes. It can be challenging to get him outside during those noisy summer months so I walk out with him on the leash and he’s more comfortable that way.

Has your pet ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: Yes, he has bit our 1 year old daughter on her face. She did not require stitches.

Dexter

Gender:  Male
Breed: Dog
Age: 7 years old
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? I had a baby 8 months ago and Dexter is very nervous and jealous of her. Dexter needs to be in a home without small children.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does your pet have? Dexter has food allergies. It seems to be when he gets into the cat food or has his regular food switched. He can only have Purina dog chow. He hasn’t had an episode in a couple years though. Last year Dexter had 3 seizures. And one this year. Since they were stretched apart and not in any way consistent he isn’t on meds. I personally believe they are stress related.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? I got him as a puppy and have had him nearly 7 years now.

What are two favorite things about your animal? Dexter loves to snuggle and sleep under the covers. Dexter loves his people once he gets used to them. He also loves most other dogs. If they are too high energy they make him nervous. Dexter needs chill people.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: A cat he has lived with since a puppy.  He does perfectly fine with. Dexter also loves dogs. Not puppy like energy though. That makes him nervous

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes, but small kids make him nervous.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Dexter loves going on a walk, running and playing with dogs. He loves treats. He has his favorite blanket and loves sleeping on the couch with it. He also likes to sleep under the covers with you to snuggle.

Maple

Gender:  Female
Breed: Border Collie/Norwegian Elkhound mix
Age: 8 months old
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? I am a college student during the year and am beginning work this summer and will not be able to be home often enough for her to be happy and get enough love and exercise that she needs. It is not fair for her anymore to live with me in my current situation.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does your pet have? None. She needs plenty of exercise so that she does not release that energy by chewing or being destructive.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? I got her from a family on a farm in the country who had an accidental litter with their dog and a neighbor’s dog in Harmony, MN.

What are two favorite things about your animal? Maple is very social and playful. She is adorable!

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: When at my mom’s home in MN, she is with her 10-year-old Border Collie/German Shepherd mix. Maple loves to play with her and sleep next to her at night.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. No.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Maple is a very social and outgoing puppy. She seems fearless until she encounters something that is too “unknown” for her (a plastic bag blowing in the wind, a vacuum cleaner, etc.). She loves meeting new dogs and playing with them. She can have some anxiety at first around unknown things or new people, but it only takes a short while for her to warm up to them very quickly. She is very smart and is easily trainable (she knows sit, down, shake, rollover, come, and more). Maple loves being outdoors, she is one with nature. She loves running and playing tug o’ war with both dogs and people. She would do great on a farm or ranch or a home with a large yard.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No.

If interested in this pet please email: fgolden@wisc.edu

Phoenix

Gender:  Male
Breed: Hound mix
Age: 8 months old
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? Phoenix is a great family dog but he requires more attention, play time, and obedience classes than I can provide as a single working mom.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does your pet have? He is healthy he just needs obedience classes or more one on one attention because he is a puppy. If he is not occupied he will find things to chew! He loves being outside but does have a loud bark which neighbors nearby seem to notice. Sometimes he listens but most things are a game to take from him or to get him to go where you want him. a bit of “chasing” He sleeps in his crate at night. You will tell him no and he will “give attitude” sometimes! Just like my 7-year-old!

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? Petco- Green Bay 3 months.

What are two favorite things about your animal? He is adorable, loves all people and animals, I didn’t have to house train him he knows where to “go”.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: No; however, he had the time of his life at the circle kennel when I was out of town. He will play all day long with other dogs. Anytime he crossed another animal he was very happy and playful.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes, 10,9, and 7 which he was great with them all. Before he went outside he would stop by each of their rooms in the morning to say hello. He truly loves ALL people. He can just get excited as any puppy and jump around a bit or nip a bit playfully not to hurt.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): He is adorable, loving, sweet when he wants to cuddle and be submissive sometimes, he is super playful..will entertain himself if you don’t do the job! He loves being outside, going for walks, being around other animals, and he is good at catching animals! Caught 8 rabbits in my parent’s yard! He loves bones/anything he can chew – it goes fast! You show him where the bathroom is and he will go there and remember. He’s super chill riding in the car, at first was scared of stairs but seems to have overcome that, and overall he is a GREAT dog. I just wish we had the opportunity to give him all he deserves. My kids and myself are pretty broken up by having to do this.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No, just playful nips never harming anyone nor with that intention.

Eli

Gender:  Male
Breed: Cockapoo
Age: 8 years-old
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? Despite living with other dogs his whole life minus 2 years he is not liking having two other new dogs in the house. He decided he liked being too dog and now he has to be separated from the other two at all times. I have tried medication/behavior modification and a spray collar all without success. It isn’t fair to him or the other dogs to be separated.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What, if any, medical or behavioral concerns does your pet have? As mentioned above he would have to be an only pet. He will take off outside of given the opportunity. He is slow to warm to men but generally does ok once he sees they are ok. He does not like when strangers where hats or goodies.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? Breeder in Rio Wisconsin years.

What are two favorite things about your animal? He is very adaptive physically. He can sleep and snuggle all day and he will also go on walks and runs.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: Yes two dogs that are 1 year old. They do NOT get along. Eli is often the instigator. I would insist he be the only animal in the house. I have never sent him to a kennel as I think this would be too stressful. Any out of town travel would mean a new owner needs to have a pet sitter.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes 11 and 16

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): He loves walks, jogs and car rides. He will sleep for hours of you want to. His tummy doesn’t like ice cream! He can sit and shake and come(mostly inside when he wants to). He is slow to warm up to men but never outwardly aggressive to them. His aggression is with other animals only. He has some bad manners like stalking the door for an escape and can open the fridge if left unsupervised.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: Yes in recent months I have been nipped trying to break him away from the other puppies.

Sansa

Gender:  Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 2-3
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? Land lord decided that cats will no longer be included in policy even with doctors note.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? Self-Run Shelter in Omro, I’ve had her for about a year.

Is your cat spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? I love her meows. Sometimes its this really weird “rah” sounds. It makes me laugh every time. Another thing I love is that she meows all the time, but she never does it while sleeping, and sometimes she’ll lay on your belly (:

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: I’ve been told that she can be around other cats, but it takes her some time to warm up. If it is a kitten, she warms up a lot quicker.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. No.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Sansa is pretty independent. She isn’t a cuddler, but she’ll sit next you and nap from time to time. She’s pretty mellow but she gets pretty wild sometimes and runs really fast back and forth from room to room. She’s scared of plastic bags, and loves chewing on the air bubbles in packages. Laser pointers and the mice on a stick with a string are her fave! She loves Salmon and Tuna, flavored and the real thing. If she is meowing a heck of a lot more than usual, check her food bowl, water bowl or she wants a treat. DOES NOT LIKE TO BE PICKED UP! Especially when you’re new. If you pick her up and its not for anything important like clipping her claws, then don’t.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: Not from aggression, but if she’s playing and your using your hands as a means of a toy.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

Frankie

Gender:  Male
Breed: Bichon/Shitzu
Age: Birthday – 7/5/2011
Rehoming fee: No re-homing fee.  We have kennel, ceramic dog dishes, blankets, collar, leash, food.

Why do you need to re-home your pet? Frankie is my son’s dog since puppy but now they are expecting their 4th child and Frankie is a high energy dog and not getting the time and exercise he needs.  I have had him for the last month and I have a dog and work 2nd shift.  I kennel Frankie because he is only 12 pounds and don’t want him to get hurt or feel scared.  Frankie loves to cuddle but unfortunately I am terribly allergic to his fur/hair.  I have a schnauzer with different texture hair plus he likes his space.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? My son got him from a breeder in central Wisconsin, I have had Frankie for the last 5 weeks.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? Frankie loves to cuddle and he has THE softest fur, ever!!

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: Yes he does.  I have a 7 year old schnauzer, male and as you can see in pics, they get along very well.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Frankie did, that’s why I have him.  All boys, ages 8, 4, 1 year old and a new baby coming in August.  The 4 year old and Frankie just got to play to hard where dogs will be dogs and someone has to be dominate.  Hard to explain to a 4 year old that he can get hurt when playing to rough with a dog he grew up with.  It’s a very busy household and with Franks high energy and no where to release it, something bad could happen.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Frankie loves to play catch, play with toys, loves treats, walks, does well on a leash, loves to run in a fenced yard.  He comes when called, sits, stays (for the most part).  He is afraid of fireworks, loud noises.  He is kennel trained and loved his kennel but then mommy was home all day, he was out all day and decided he liked his freedom better.  He will go in his kennel with no problem just doesn’t run in like he used to.  Potty trained.  He doesn’t like meeting some men at times, not sure why, size maybe but you have to ease into meeting him.. Like Ceasar says, no touch, no talk.  High pitched talking gets him hyped.  I feel with an older family, willing to exercise him, he would be just the best.. He really is now, I just don’t have the time to dedicate to two dogs at this time.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: Snips.  He gives looks and actions when he feels threatened or played with.  Me, personally, just doesn’t trust any dog with children in their face.  As I said, my 4 year old grandson thinks of Frankie as his best friend that he can play with and roll around with, its just not a good situation.

If interested in this pet please call, text or email: Jem41057@aol.com or 4144675829 (only available in mornings for the most part).

Milo

Gender:  Male
Breed: Feist
Age: 1 year old
Rehoming fee: $50 will include toys, treats and bed.

Why do you need to re-home your pet? Milo is a sweetheart, very loving and affectionate. He is also extremely rambunctious and energetic, and is always ready to run around and play. He does settle down if you’re home with him for a while and lay in your lap or next to you. We’ve taken Milo to training classes, and he has learned commands like sit and lay down, as well as come. He is eager to please which is very nice, but does have a short attention span. The reason we have decided we cannot keep him anymore is because he has extreme separation anxiety and hates being left alone, even though we have another dog to keep him company. If left out, he is destructive and finds anything to get into, he also can jump extremely high on countertops to take food or other things down. We began crating him and he has started knocking over his crate and pushing the bottom out and in some cases makes it so he can undo the latch and set himself free. Milo should be with people that are able to stay home with him as much as possible (he really is an angel when you’re home with him) or if you have a fenced in yard and can let him stay outside all day to play or go in and out as he pleases.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? We adopted him from FVHS through the Green Bay PetSmart.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? He is so affectionate and loving, he loves to lick and love anyone whether it be people, dogs or our guinea pigs. He deserves so much love and affection in return, and the time we cannot devote to him to calm him down.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: Yes, a 1 year old terrier mix. Milo loves our other dog, he is a bit larger than her (he is 18 pounds and she is 10), but he’s like her big brother and licks and grooms her and plays and rough-houses with her, but is so gentle and never tries to actually nip or bite at her. We also have two guinea pigs, and he loves them too, he just wants to lick and cuddle with them.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. No, but he loves kids. Whenever we’re out and kids run over to pet him he absolutely loves the attention and licks them and lets them pet and hold him.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): He is energetic and loves exercise and to play, but also loves to snuggle up in your lap or get his belly rubbed. He loves cuddling under the blankets in bed at night and sleeping next to your legs. He is completely potty trained, and will only have an accident if he has been left alone long enough. He can sit, lie down, and come. He is extremely food motivated and will eat and drink until you take it away. Milo really is a great dog, and will give unconditional love to everyone in your family- he just needs to be in a home where someone is at home with him most of the time, or if they can afford to bring him to doggy day care every day-which unfortunately we cannot.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No, he is incredibly gentle even while playing with other dogs. He may growl and bare his teeth if he is chewing on his bone, but he has never even moved to snap or anything like that.

Aries

Gender:  Male
Breed: Black short hair
Age: 2 1/2  years
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? I am looking to re-home my cat Aries. He is 2 ½ years old.  He is having some behavioral problems, he had a uti and it is now taken care of but it seems he got stuck in his ways at my home. I think he would do better without another dog around, he has currently lived with his sibling for years so he is good with another cat around. He is a little skittish around loud kids and hides until they are gone. Since we got a dog a year ago he has gotten overweight with stress and dog food around. I just do not think this is fair to Aries anymore, he needs a home where he will not have this stress. He will come to you for attention, cuddle next to you for hours when your sleeping, likes to perch high next to the window. Please help me find a home for him!

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? I got him as a kitten with his sister at the humane society in Green Bay.

Is your cat spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? He loves to cuddle next to your while you sleeping. He used to run after a laser like crazy, but since he has gotten a little overweight his activity has lessened. I think this will change when he loses weight and is in an environment that is less stressful.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one. Yes, she lives with 2 other cats and a shih-tzu dog. She gets along with the dog very well and doesn’t mind the other two cats. She doesn’t get into fights with any of them.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. No, but kids do stop over sometimes. He usually just stays downstairs until the noise quiets.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): In the 2 1/2 years I have had him he had two uti’s.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? She was a rescue from the Sheboygan Humane Society and I’ve had her for  about 10 years.

Is your cat spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? She is so sweet. She loves to sit on laps, be petted and brushed.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one. Yes- A 7-year-old male boxer. They get along great! Every once in awhile I catch them napping together.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes- 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Lily is overweight. She likes to graze on the dog food that our dog doesn’t eat up throughout the day. She was recently checked out by the vet and she is otherwise healthy. Someone who can give her more time and attention can maybe get her diet under control and get her more exercise by playing with her. Can’t stress the sweetness of this cat enough- so lovable! She purrs as soon as you touch her. There is not much I can think of that she dislikes. Like I said earlier, she could use some exercise. She lies around most of the day.

Lady

Gender:  Female
Breed: Bechon poodle (and other?)
Age: 10-ish years old
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? We do not have enough time for her.  She has to be babysat constantly and even when we are home we are too busy to watch her.  She is an older dog (about 10, we think), we have had her for a little over two years.  She is just not “re-trainable”.  She has accidents constantly even though we take her outside.  If a gate isn’t up she will get into trash, backpacks, clothes anything looking for something and then will pretty much eat everything.  We do feed her the normal two times a day.  I have a second job now so she has to be kenneled all the time, even when I am home because if she goes beyond a gate then she will have an accident.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? A lady did not want to take her to the shelter so we took her in.  The lady did NOT tell us about her behavior.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? We walk her but she snorts the entire time, does not seem to like it at all but we do it anyway.  She constantly snorts around the kitchen.  She does snore which gets to be pretty funny.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another: Yes, a cat that is 10 years old, they ignore each other.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes, a 15-year-old.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): No medical that I know of.  Behavior-she snorts into the trash cans and will consume anything/everything in it, she eats her poop when she goes outside, she has eaten underwear, it seems like once in a while the steps are hard for her to get up but not all the time.  I have tried to correct these behaviors for the last two years and nothing has worked.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: She does not bite.  Welcoming dog.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one. Yes. We have a senior (11) cat calico with three legs. Pumpkin is very playful with her and she does not like it, he would be okay with a younger playful cat.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Two young boys, 2&4. He is very good around them and they enjoy playing with him.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Pumpkin is very playful yet also loves to sit in your lap at night to cuddle. Mufasa

Age: 5-6 years old
Rehoming fee: $50.00

Why do you need to re-home your pet? My husband and I have fell into a financial struggle and I currently am moving in with my parents but am not able to take him with me. It’s the hardest thing I have ever had to do but I would love for him to have a loving home.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? We adopted him from the humane society and we have had him for almost 4 years.

Is your cat spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? My favorite things about Mufasa are that he has the cutest meow and will sit and let you pet him for hours.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. No. He hides from younger kids.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Mufasa has a very laid back personality. He loves his cat tree more than anything. He’s not big into playing with toys. He loves being pet and occasionally enjoys baths. Mufasa is a big boy and he doesn’t enjoy being picked up but he will deal with it. Cuddling is something Mufasa likes to do when he wants too. This cat means the world to me and he has brought so many laughs and smiles to our family.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No. He just gives love bites when he doesn’t want you to stop petting him. It’s adorable.

Jethro

Gender:  Male
Breed:  Beagle
Age: 7 years old
Rehoming fee: $50, which includes kennel, toys, leash and some food.

Why do you need to re-home your pet? He is aggressive towards our other dog when food or attention is involved.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? Fox Valley Humane Association, 4 months.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? He loves to snuggle and he’s friendly with everyone he meets. Also, peanut butter and dog treats with blueberries cause diarrhea.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another. We have another beagle, a 9-year-old female.  When no food is around, they do well together. They walk well together and do fine being outside together. However, when there is food involved, and more recently attention, Jethro will snarl and become physically aggressive towards our female. He does great with other dogs at the dog park, but would do best being an “only dog.”

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes – a 15-year-old. He does very well with children at the dog park and when we’re on walks. He is very tolerant of being carried around and moved around on the couch/bed.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): Jethro has passed the level I Adult dog training through Petco. He does well with sit, lay down, leave it and come (when there are no other distractions). He does not know how to play (with balls, tug toys, etc), but loves to be petted and get attention. He shows signs of separation anxiety, and we crate him and give him chew toys and leave the tv on when we go out. Doing this, he does well for 5-6 hours alone. He sometimes has what seem to be nightmares and would snarl at our dog for no apparent reason, then go back and lay down, asleep. We keep him in a larger kennel at night, near my bed, and he doesn’t seem to have the nightmares there.  (He likes to be near people at night). He enjoys car rides, walks and going to the small dog park in Appleton. He’s a great dog, and we hate to give him up, but we can’t have him going after our other dog.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No.

Jordy

Gender:  Male
Breed:  Shiba Inu
Age: 4 years old
Rehoming fee: No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? He is a great dog but does not get along with our one-year-old. We have 2 children and for some reason, they just can’t seem to get along.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? He was the only surviving puppy from his group so they placed him with an older patch of puppies. When he was younger he was very good aggressive with other dogs. It has calmed down since then but we would still prefer a house with no other dogs. Also, his breed is known to be runners so a fenced in yard would probably work best.

Is your dog spayed or neutered? Yes.

What are two favorite things about your animal? We got Jordy as a puppy from a certified breeder in WI. He is a pure breed Shiba Inu and we have had him for 5 years. He is very playful and once you bond with him he will become very affectionate.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another. He does not live with other animals.

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes, he lives witha2 and 1 year old. From seeing him with other children I feel the best ages for him would be 5 and older where they can play and run with him.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): He is getting loving but very hyper. He does go to daycare as well to play with other dogs. He knows all the basic commands and is very well potty trained.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No.

Liberty

Gender:  Female
Breed:  Calico
Age: 9 years old
Rehoming fee:  No

Why do you need to re-home your pet? When we bought our house 3 years ago, we had two cats – Jubilee and Liberty. Unfortunately Jubilee developed a urinary infection that caused her to stop using the litterbox. She instead went anywhere else in the house with carpet. We tried everything our vet had suggested, but in the end she was too set in her ways (even after the infection was cured) and we couldn’t break her habit. She was a bit older (12+), so we very sadly had to bring her into the vet and put her to sleep. As a side effect of all this, Liberty picked up on some of those behaviors. She still uses the litterbox for peeing, but will poop on the areas of the carpet that Jubilee had previously marked. Again, we have met with our vet several times about different solutions for Liberty. As it stands right now, Liberty has to spend most of her time in the unfinished side of our basement. We can really only bring her out when we are home and awake, so she only gets a few hours of time with people each day. After about 2 years of trial and error, we’ve decided that we need to find a new home for Liberty. Ideally a home with mostly hard floors would be best, but we believe she would also do ok in a house that does not already have pet “marked” carpets. We briefly had moved Liberty to a friends house, and Liberty did not have any issues with using the litterbox there. Unfortunately, they had two large dogs (over 130+ lbs each) and she did not do well with the big dogs. She was always hiding from the dogs and really did not seem to be very happy there. She is currently back living with us. I’m hoping that through the Fox Valley Humane Association, we can find her a new loving home. We simply didn’t trust finding people through Craigslist and other anonymous methods of re-homing her. Libby (Liberty) is front-declawed and spayed. She should be up-to-date on all of her shots. If not, we can take care of that before she would go to her new home.

Where did you get your animal and how long have you had him/her? We got her as a kitten from a family friend.

What are two favorite things about your animal? She can be a bit shy at first, but once Libby (Liberty) gets used to someone she is very friendly and loves to cuddle. If she had her way, she’d spend her entire life on someone’s lap. Secondly, she is very loyal. She will always go towards the people she loves the most. Other than the obvious, this is nice for when we have visitors at our house that may not want her to jump on their lap.

Does your animal live with other animals? If yes, please list age, gender, and breed and how they act around one another. Not currently

Does your animal live with any children? If yes, please list their ages. Yes, ages 1, 3, and 7. She generally avoids the younger two kids, but will happily follow my 7yr-old around to be pet.

Tell us about your animal’s personality. (likes/dislikes, activity level, special tricks, fears/phobias, etc.): We have tried a variety of different foods, but she definitely prefers Purina ONE’s “Turkey and Chicken” mix. She does not care for wet food, and has stayed very healthy with the dry food. Like most cats, she likes to have a safe place to curl up and sleep – preferably with a blanket in the sunlight during the day.

Has your animal ever bitten a person? If yes, please explain: No.
