FVHA offers two types of Rabies Quarantine

In-Person Quarantine

  • The most common type of quarantine is called an Isolation Facility Quarantine. This is where an animal stays here at FVHA. This is done because it has been determined that the cat, dog or ferret is NOT current on a rabies vaccination.
  • Law Enforcement or a Health Dept. can also order an Isolation Facility Quarantine on an animal that is current on the rabies vaccination. It is at their discretion.
  • The animal being quarantined stays here at FVHA for the 10 days. We take care of the animal’s basic needs, perform the three necessary health checks during those 10 days and file all paperwork with the proper authorities at the completion of the quarantine.
  • The cost of this quarantine is $450. It is payable by cash, credit or debit at the time the animal arrives at our facility to begin the quarantine.

In-Home Quarantine

  • The other type of quarantine is called an In-Home Quarantine. This can be done when it is determined that the cat, dog or ferret is current on its rabies vaccination.
  • The animal is isolated at home and brought here for each of the three health checks spaced throughout the 10 days. This is done by appointment.
  • At the completion of the 10-day quarantine FVHA will file all paperwork with the proper authorities.
  • The cost of this quarantine is $150. It is payable by cash, credit or debit.
