Shelter News

On Monday, September 19th, 56 dogs arrived at the Appleton International Airport from Houston to find their new homes in Wisconsin.  The dogs were flown into Appleton by Wings of Rescue, a non-profit group committed to help animals in need.   Six of the dogs were taken to the Oshkosh Humane Society and the remaining 50 were taken to FVHA to settle in, get some food and rest.  After a little R&R each dog will be checked by our veterinary staff, given any medical care they require and will be ready for adoption by the end of next week.

With an estimated 100,000 pets displaced by the recent hurricanes this will be the first of many flights FVHA will greet with open arms.

If you are looking for ways to help please consider adoption, providing a foster home or giving a cash donation to assist with their medical care.
